If you are an iOS user, this might be a quite familiar hindrance you have to face while backing up photos from your iPhone. You are backing them up and then you get that pop-up message which you wish you hadn't got: “You do not have enough space in iCloud to backup your iPhone.”
Sounds familiar? Apple just might have a solution for you.
According to AppleInsider, the global tech giant is offering free iCloud storage for a month to its customers who have run out of their meagre plan of 5GB.
The 5GB plan was launched way back in 2011, and considering the amount of data consumers use these days, why the data limit of this plan was not increased over the years remains a bit of a mystery. Especially when you take into account the fact that the 5GB allotment covers all type of data that you can back up to the Cloud like application data, photos etc. In a way, the customers are kind of forced to back up less data on the Cloud because if the limit exceeds 5GB, then you have to shell out more money to Apple for more data.
Google, on the other hand, allows its users to backup their photos the high quality ones for free. There is an unlimited space for high quality pictures on Google Photos.
However, free iCloud storage for one month is still a progressive move by the company, but surely Apple can do better in terms of offering better solutions in terms of backup options.
